The 2018 Miss & Mr. Mount Washington Valley Teen Scholarship Event will be held on Sunday, May 6 at Believe In Books’ Theater in the Wood, in Intervale. Teens from throughout the Valley have been working on their skills in Interview, Public Speaking and Poise over the past month, as well as functioning as a team to make the event happen. They will spend the day on Sunday meeting the judges in their Interviews and Public Speaking, as well as preparing for the evening’s Formal Wear and Talent portions of the event. More than $2500 in scholarship money will be awarded.
The Formal Wear Program is open to the public and begins at 4pm. Admission is $5 per person at the door and an additional fee for programs. Reigning Miss Mount Washington Valley Teen, Courtney Barrows, has had a busy year and this will be her farewell as she places the 2018 crown on another young woman’s head. The very first Mr. Mount Washington Valley Teen will also be crowned. Special royal guests will be in attendance from the North Country and entertainment from some local talents. This is the 29th annual Scholarship Event, which awards more than $2,000 each year.
The community is encouraged to come out and support the amazing teens of our Valley on this special night. Contestants for 2018 include residents of Bartlett, Conway, Freedom, Glen, North Conway, Stoneham, and Tamworth.
