Attitash Mountain Resort Celebrates 40 Years of Sliding & Summer Fun in New Hampshire

Bartlett, NH (June 12, 2016) – Attitash Mountain Resort opens daily operations for the summer season this Saturday, June 18. Attitash will operate a total of 10 attractions included within the general Attraction Park Admission Ticket as well as the ZipTour and Horseback Riding that can be reserved at an additional cost.

This year marks the 40th Anniversary of the Alpine Slide and summer operations at Attitash. Back in the summer of 1976 the mountain featured the Alpine Slide, The Alpine Garden – a Bavarian-style restaurant serving up luncheon daily, and a series of 11 small buildings where craftsmen produced and sold a variety of items at the mountain called the Craft Village.

“The alpine slide is an amazing attraction that still after all of these years is one of our most popular attractions,” stated John Lowell, President & General Manager of Attitash Mountain Resort.

When the Alpine Slide made its debut it was called the “Super Slide” and was 4400’ long. Today there are two slides stretching over a mile long providing guests the longest ride in North America.

Guests visiting Attitash Mountain Resort this summer will also be able to enjoy attractions such as the Mountain Coaster, three water slides, a children’s play pool, slacklines, a eurobungy trampoline, a giant airbag free fall, and New Hampshire’s longest single span zip line the ZipTour.

“The ZipTour is thrilling and in three years easily has become our most popular addition to our summer offerings,” Lowell stated. “The adventure is truly one of a kind, and we’re proud to offer visitors a very unique view of the surrounding White Mountains.”

Guests can also choose to enjoy the Attitash Mountain Resort grounds on the saddle of a bike or horse. Attitash offers over 20 miles of mountain bike terrain on both Attiash & Bear Peaks as well as numerous cross country trails. Those with bikes may access the trail system via lift by purchasing a General Admission ticket. Attitash also offers a full fleet of rental bikes & equipment inside the base lodge for guests wishing to get out on the mountain.

Across from main resort are the Fields of Attiash where guests can reserve 30-minute or 60-minute horseback riding tours given by trained handlers. Children can also get up close and ride a pony. Horseback rides can be reserved by calling 800-223-7669 or now online at attitash.com.

The Attitash Grand Summit Hotel located at the base of Bear Peak has been recently upgraded with all new guest room furniture, carpet and new pavers throughout the entire front entrance. Vacation packages including admissions to not only Attitash attractions but other area attractions such as Storyland, Santa’s Village and the Conway Scenic Railroad are available throughout the summer.

General attraction park tickets can be purchased in advance for a discount, and guests can now reserve times for both horseback riding and ZipTour adventures at attitash.com. For questions or for more information guests can call 800-223-7669.
