Peak foliage in Northern reaches of Mt Washington Valley, NH for Columbus Day weekend

Fall foliage report from Mt Washington Valley, NH – October 5, 2016

According to our sources, the fall color is just about at peak in the Northern reaches of Mt Washington Valley. We expect Mother Nature to deliver right on time with full color in the Northern parts of the Valley, including Bretton Woods, Crawford Notch and Pinkham Notch over Columbus Day weekend. What a weekend for a leaf peeping tour.

In North Conway, fall colors are really beginning to pop with gorgeous color filling in around Echo Lake and along back roads in Jackson. What a weekend for a drive out in the country! We estimate the fall color at anywhere from 50-percent to 80-percent peak.

The Southern parts of the Valley, including around Danforth Bay Camping Area and King Piine Ski Area, will offer up fall color for a few more weeks. While the yellows, reds and oranges are beginning to show, leaf peepers will be treated to color here for the next few weeks. We estimate the fall color in the southern parts of Mt Washington Valley at about 35-45-percent peak.

Columbus Day weekend marks the final weekend of the Fryeburg Fair, the 19th Annual Attitash Oktoberfest, the King Pine’s Brew Ha Ha Festival, the haunts at Cranmore Mountain Resort’s Ghoullog, and the Return of the Pumpkin People Tour. Add that to gorgeous color and a three-day weekend you’ve got many great reasons to visit Mt Washington Valley, NH over Columbus Day weekend.
