Concert to Support Recovery Efforts in Mount Washington Valley January 6, 2018

Bennett & Perkins to perform at fundraiser at Endeavor House in Center Conway

CENTER CONWAY,NH – Are you or a friend, loved one or neighbor impacted by the opiate abuse epidemic and wish you could help support a path to recovery? Now you can enjoy a night of camaraderie, good food and good music with MWV Supports Recovery and Memorial Hospital’s A New Life Prenatal Program as they host an evening of acoustic music by Bennett & Perkins.

The evening of music will start off 6 p.m. with a community pot luck dinner of soups, lasagna and other enticing food offerings served up in hand-thrown, hand-crafted pottery bowls donated by local potter Jennie Lanoie. Dinner follows with a concert by folk duo Bennett & Perkins, who tour New England sharing their original music which has been compared to artists ranging from Richard Thompson to Emmy Lou Harris. Often featured on NH Public Radio’s The Folk Show, their music combines tight harmonies, compelling storytelling, and master guitar work for an evening to remember.

The performance, set up in a house concert style, takes place in MWV Supports Recovery Endeavor House in Center Conway, NH (just west of the Conway Town Hall). The Endeavor House will be offering sober housing and recovery services to women starting in 2018. MWV Supports Recovery also offers a Family Resource Center. MWVSR Family Resource Center is a safe place where recovery development occurs and where individuals will be matched with people offering recovery support services.

Concert proceeds will also benefit A New Life, a prenatal group program for those recovering from substance misuse disorder. It’s a comprehensive program featuring medication assisted treatment, group counseling and other support services through to childbirth giving both mother and child better outcomes. The program is the only one of its kind in the north country and benefits women prenatally and through their first year post-partum.

Tickets are just $25 per person and may be purchased online in advance at www.bennettandperkins.com. Tickets are also available at the door, but advance online registration is strongly recommended as limited seats are available.
