Fashion-forward, plus-size brand Torrid now open at Settlers Green
January 27, 2020 (North Conway, NH) – Torrid, a plus-size women’s fashion store that appeals to on-trend fashionistas, has opened a 3,200 square foot store at Settlers Green.
Inspired by and designed to fit young, fashion-forward women, Torrid has sizes 10-30 and includes apparel, shoes, accessories and lingerie.
The company opened in 2001 as a sister company of Hot Topic, Inc. The brand was in high demand as many plus-size brands were not catered toward teens and young professionals at the time. As of 2016, Torrid has over 400 stores in 36 states. It held its first fashion show at New York Fashion Week in fall 2017. The Settlers Green store is the first Torrid Outlet in New England.
“We think a lot of shoppers will be excited to see a dedicated plus-size apparel store back in the local market,” said Marketing Director Laura Lemieux. “Shoppers can expect a solid mix of fashion styles including workwear, formal attire and casual dresswear.”
Torrid is well-known for its interaction with its fanbase via social media. Many online bloggers and influencers represent the brand including Hollywood actresses Rebel Wilson and Adrienne C. Moore. The brand has also dabbled in pop culture campaigns with clothing inspired by television shows and movies, much of which is featured in its Fangirl Collection.
