Recognized among ‘Top 50 Resorts in North America’ as #4 Best Ski Resort, New Hampshire’s largest ski area reopens after boost from over half a million dollars in 2022 capital investment

Bretton Woods, N.H. (Nov. 19, 2022) Bretton Woods, New Hampshire’s largest ski area, will kick off its 49th season this Saturday, November 19, offering consistently top-ranked grooming, snow, lifts, lodging, and more. Part of Omni Mount Washington Resort, Bretton Woods is surrounded by nearly 800,000 acres of the White Mountain National Forest, and provides families with a wide range of accommodations and recreational amenities.

For the Bretton Woods 2022-23 ski season weekend opener, lifts will turn from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the Zephyr High-speed Quad servicing Rangeview to start, and additional lifts and trails to open as snowmaking continues. Terrain is recommended for intermediate levels and above, and all skiers and riders should be geared up including goggles, as snowmaking will continue as conditions allow. Through November 23, Adult tickets are $69; Teens 13-17 are $59; and Juniors 5-12 are $49; and Seniors 65-79 are $40.

As part of Omni Hotels & Resorts’ brand-wide Say Goodnight to Hunger initiative, which donates a meal to Feeding America for every completed stay, Bretton Woods will be hosting a non-perishable food drive on Opening Day to support its the New Hampshire Food Bank. Guests who bring donations of a non-perishable food item will receive a $10 discount per ticket purchase at the window.

“Our hardworking snowmakers and grooming team are working diligently create the best opening-day experience as possible, given the unseasonal weather we’ve seen in November,” noted Craig Clemmer, director of sales and marketing. “We look forward to the beginning of a great season, and we’re thankful that Mother Nature is doing her part.”

Opening weekend skier services are limited and include rentals with advanced reservations and repair services, plus Lucy Crawford’s Food Court, Slopeside Pub and TreeTop Sports will be open in the main Base Lodge.

Bretton Woods has recently been recognized across multiple categories in the recent SKI Magazine 2023 Reader Resort Survey for “Top 50 Resorts in North America”, ranking #4 Best Ski Resort in the U.S.; #2 Overall in the East; #1 in New Hampshire, and #1 in the East for Grooming and Lifts. Supported by the #1 ranking in New Hampshire for snow quality, guest services and dining, New Hampshire’s largest ski area is, once again, a notable award-winner.

Additionally, Conde Nast Traveler’s 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards rated Bretton Woods #8 in North America among its, “Best Ski Resorts in the World” list, and Omni Mount Washington Resort received a #4 placement – the highest-rated hotel in the state – on the “Top 22 Resorts in the Northeast” Bretton Woods also made a noteworthy appearance in US News & World Report’s Best Ski Resort’s in the U.S.,” placing it among the Top 5 in the Northeast.

With a 2022 capital investment of over half a million dollars, Bretton Woods continues to improve its top-ranked grooming and snowmaking capabilities with a new Pisten Bully 400 and new high-efficiency snowmaking tower guns.

This investment follows a recent, multi-year expansion and renovations throughout the entire resort, starting with the 2019 addition of New Hampshire’s only eight-passenger gondola, followed by the 2020 debut of the stunning mountain-top Rosebrook Lodge which has quickly become a premier location for special events and weddings, in addition to providing top-level dining and skier services.

In the height of ski season, Bretton Woods provides guests with alpine skiing and snowboarding with 63 downhill trails and 35 glades, as well as a full-service PSIA ski school, rentals, clinics, and special events. Nordic skiing and snowshoeing are also available on a 100-kilometer tracked and skate groomed trail network, including 11km dog-friendly trails and 3km of lift-serviced terrain at the alpine area. Winter hiking trails snow tubing are also offered.
