White Mountain National Forest Centennial Artist in Residence Lorri Deyer Gives Closing Talk August 9

CAMPTON, NH, August 3, 2018 The public is invited to the final presentation by White Mountain National Forest Artist in Residence Lorri Deyer at White Mountain NF Headquarters located at 71 White Mountain Drive, Campton, NH on August 9th at 6:30 pm.

All are welcome to attend this free, informal presentation. Dyer will talk about her time on the Forest and the work she has done on her “Field Guide to the Unnoticed: Walks through the WMNF.” The project includes a website, https://www.unnoticedfieldguide-wmnf.com/, which invites community members and visitors to participate by contributing their own images, writing or sound files.

Lorri describes her work as being about “daily life and the miracle of noticing within that.” Her residency has included two trail walks during which participants honed their powers of attention and observation.

There will be time to talk with Deyer, ask questions about her project, and – for those interested – to learn how to contribute to the ongoing website throughout the year.

The Artist in Residence program is a partnership between the White Mountain National Forest and the Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire, with artist lodging provided by Friends of Mead Base Conservation Center. In mid-August through September, the second selected artist, sculptor Quinn Morrissette, will be in residence.
