MT WASHINGTON VALLEY SKI RESORTS WELL REPRESENTED IN 2017-18 LIFTOPIA BEST IN SNOW AWARDS & BUSINESS INSIDER TOP VALUE LIST

 

 

North Conway, NH – The list of accolades grows for Mt Washington Valley, NH as a premier North American ski destination. In addition to North Conway being named the #1 ski destination in North America by USA Today/10 Best readers, Mt Washington Valley’s ski resorts cleaned up in the 2017-18 Liftopia Best in Snow Awards. Bretton Woods was the high scorer, being named to a number of Top Ten lists in both North America and in the Northeast. Yet even the smaller ski resorts made it on to the lists with King Pine Ski Area and Black Mountain both making their debut on one of the lists of top ski resorts in North America. Many of the Valley’s ski resorts were well represented on additional lists. In addition, both Wildcat Mountain and Cranmore Mountain Resort came in Business Insider’s top ten best ski resorts that don’t cost a fortune for 2018, according to HomeToGo.com’s Ski Price Index.

The 2017-2018 Liftopia Best in Snow Awards ranked the best ski areas in North America based on the feedback of thousands of skiers and snowboards, which was then combined with Liftopia’s dataset to uncover the ski areas that skiers and riders are most passionate about in North America. Respondents were asked to consider criteria such as snow quality and conditions, favorite resorts such as family friendliness, challenging terrain, crowds, and snow consistency and quality. Here’s how the ski resorts in Mt Washington Valley fared in the 2017-18 Liftopia awards.

According to BusinessInsider.com, HomeToGo.com, a vacation rental search site, compiled a list of the most affordable ski resorts in North America for those in search of affordable ski vacations. Staffers at HomeToGo.com gathered data for the 35 top-rated ski resorts in the US and Canada, and then estimated the average total cost of a one day/night stay including equipment rental, a one-day pass/lift ticket, lunch on the mountain and vacation rental accommodations cost (per person). Cranmore Mountain Resort came in at #4 most affordable out of 35 resorts and Wildcat came in at the #8 position. According to the HomeToGo Value Index, the average cost per person of a stay at Cranmore is $177.85 and the average cost at Wildcat is $201.21.

It’s not surprising that Mt Washington Valley, NH was the only region in the country with two ski resorts listed on the HomeToGo Ski Price Index list and two on Liftopia’s Best Value list. For two years in a row, TripAdvisor rated North Conway and the surrounding Mt Washington Valley the most affordable ski destination in the East, adding to the value factor of a ski getaway in the Valley.
