More than 7.5 feet of snow going into MLK Weekend at Mt Washington Valley, NH resorts

Greetings from Mt Washington Valley, NH – where we’ve received over 7.5 feet of snow so far this year!

We are pinching ourselves over the great skiing conditions at Mt Washington Valley’s 13 ski resorts and XC Centers where we’ve received as much as 21-inches of new snow in the past six days! With this week’s warm up, snow will soften at all elevations.

Here are the conditions on Wed, January 10, 2018 – a bluebird day with perfect skiing temps:

Attitash65 trails, 37 groomed runs, 244 acres skiable terrain. 2 terrain parks open. 6 lifts. Base depth: 18"-30". 10" of snowfall in the past 7 days. 50" of snow this season. Enjoy live entertainment in Ptarmigan’s Pub and Lion’s Den after skiing, plus on Sat, Jan 13 Attitash After Dark in Ptarmigan’s Pub presented by Bud Light. Fireworks at 6:30 pm followed by the big show featuring “Wanted DOA” from 7 to 11 pm. Visit events page for more info.

Black Mountain -41 trails, 14 groomed runs. 2 lifts, more running this weekend. Base depths: 12"-36". 10" of snowfall in the past 5 days. Find live entertainment in Lostbo Pub nightly Friday through Monday, including a PBR promo and grand prize giveaway. Plus, catch last tracks with a Moat Mountain brewer on Sat, Jan 13.

Bretton Woods – 100% open! 65 trails, 44 groomed runs, 35 glades, 464 skiable acres. 6 lifts. Base depth: 30"-40". 3" of new snow in the past 48 hours, 21" in the past 6 days. 86" of snowfall this season! Enjoy both adult Blast from the Past and kids’ Apres Ski Parties after a day of great skiing. January is learn to ski & ride month at Bretton Woods. Plus, look for Winter Carnival events this weekend too.

Cranmore 42 trails and glades, 40 groomed,136 skiable acres. 4 lifts. Base: 25"-32". 13" of new snowfall in the past 6 days. Tubing & Mountain Adventure Park open starting Friday, 4pm and open this weekend through Monday. Two Cranapalooza celebrations this weekend, Jan 13th & 14th.

King Pine – 100% of trails open.17 trails, 17 groomed. Twisted Pine terrain park open. 50 skiable acres, 5 lifts. Base depth: 18"-36". 1" of new snow in the past 48 hours, 13" in the past 5 days. 43" of snow this season. The tubing park and skating rink are both open for regular hours. Ski with WBZ, noon to 2pm, Jan 13th. Night skiing and Saturday Night family racing this weekend too.

Shawnee Peak -34 trails open (28 groomed), 2 terrain parks open.4 lifts. Base depth: 26"-36", 14" of snowfall in the past 5 days Be sure to hit Blizzard’s Pub for apres ski this weekend – Open Mike on Friday, 1/12 and Kid’s movie night on Saturday. 1/13.

Wildcat97% open with 46 trails (18 groomed) and 219 skiable terrain. 3 lifts operating. Base depths: 20"-40". 16" of new snow in the past 5 days. 73" of snowfall this season. Catch live entertainment from 1:00-4:00pm in the pub on Friday and Saturday.

Mt Washington Valley’s XC Ski and Snowshoe Centers

Bear Notch Ski Touring: 30km trails open, 26km classic, 36km skating. Base depths: 20"-35". 9" of new snow in the past 6 days. Parts of Yates Farm Trails now open. Western Trail Network groomed.

Bretton Woods Nordic Center: 49 trails (88km) open. 29 trails track set (51km), 39 trails skate groomed (73km). Base depth: 16" – 22". 21" of new snow in the past 6 days. Snowfall season to date: 86". Tubing, skating and fat bikes from The Stone Pillar. Biking and dog walking from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm on 8km trails and tubing & skating from 10:00am – 5:00pm today. Come watch the 45th Geschmossel Classic Ski Race on Jan 15th.

Great Glen Trails: 45 km open; 20km tracked, 25km skate groomed. Snowshoe trails: 45km. Average base depth: 15". 13" of snow in the past 7 days. Season snowfall total: 62". Tubing hill open. Snowcoach Tours scheduled, but weather dependent. Call ahead to inquire about fat biking. Sun, Jan 14th is Nordic Demo Day. Free demos with trail pass & discounts in the store.

Jackson Ski Touring Foundation: 50 trails/123km open, 29 trails track set, 29 trails skate groomed. 11 back country trails open. 18 snowshoe trails open. Base depth: 18"-24".8" of new snow in the past 4 days. Snowfall season to date: 40". January is Learn to Ski Month at Jackson XC. Free Wax & Wine Clinic with Swix Rep Bruce Diehl, Jan 13, 4-6pm.

Purity Spring XC and Snowshoe Preserve: Now open! 20 trails, 2km classic, 20km skate groomed, 20 snowshoe trails Base depths: 12"-24". 1" of new snow in the past 48 hours, 13" in the past 5 days. 43" of snow this season. Guided Snowshoe Tours every Saturday at 2:00pm. Midweek, well behaved dogs are welcome on the trails; leashed when passing other skiers.

Mt Washington Valley Ski Touring & Snowshoe Foundation: 40km open in Whitaker Woods and Intervale Network. 40km skate groomed. 45km snowshoe trails. 2km fat biking trails on designated trails. Base depths: 10"-16". Light snowfall presently. Guided Snowshoe Walk every Saturday at 1:00 pm. Mark the calendar for the Whitaker Woods Snowshoe Scramble, Jan 13th.

Great Glen Trails: The Meisters Citizen Race Series kicked off this week; the largest weekly XC Race series in the country, this weekly Tuesday event draws skiers from throughout the country.
