ATTITASH MOUNTAIN RESORT BEGINS SNOWMAKING UPGRADE

April 24, 2017 (Bartlett, NH)–Attitash Mountain Resort stopped spinning lifts for the 2016-2017 winter season on Sunday, April 9th yet the next morning groomers could be found all over the mountain.

“We’ve invested in over three and half miles of new pipe that will ensure that we can efficiently move water and air to trails that are early season favorites on Attitash Peak,” stated John Lowell, VP & GM of Atttiash Mountain Resort.

Carl McKenna, Mountain Operations Manager who oversees grooming and snowmaking operations stated, "The abundant snow this year was great for our guests but it also allowed us to use our groomers to move pipe after the season wrapped up."

McKenna added that snowmaking pipe arrived prior to the end of the season and was staged near the learning center’s surface lift. Sections of pipe were then staged and welded together to form continuous strings with some as long as a football field. Staff then used grooming machines to drag the pieces up on the snow to their locations along the trails edge. There they will again be welded in place.

Season passes remain on sale at their lowest prices until Sunday, April 30, 2017. Peak Passes are valid at both Attitash & Wildcat Mountains as well as Crotched Mountain in southern NH; Mount Snow, VT; Hunter Mountain, NY, as well as Jack Frost & Big Boulder in PA. Passes start as low as $299 and a payment plan is offered for only $99 down.

The snowmaking project is just one of several capital projects underway already this spring at Attitash. A new kid’s splash pad will open this summer and construction is already underway.

Attitash will open up the Mountain Coaster and New England’s Longest Zipline the ZipTour for Memorial Day Weekend. The full slate of summer attractions including the alpine slides are slated to open daily on Father’s Day Weekend, June 17th & 18th. All dads can receive a free general admission ticket over the weekend with the purchase of a ticket for their child(ren).
