Join David Govatski as he leads the Tin Mountain Nature Program Old Forest Growth on Friday, August 26, where participants will traverse on a variety of short hiking trails in search of Old Growth Forest in the Snyder Brook, Eagle Cliff, and Franconia Notch areas. According to the Forest and Lands, Synder Brook is owned by the White Mountain National Forest and is described as, “A remnant patch of old-growth hemlock – spruce – northern hardwood forest occurs along Snyder Brook on the lower northern slope of the Presidential Range in Randolph. This is a wildly scenic short hike that takes you past three White Mountain waterfalls and through a magnificent old forest community.”

Dress for the weather, be prepared for changing weather conditions, bring your lunch, snack, water, camera and binoculars.

David Govatski has a degree in Forestry and worked for over 30 years with the US Forest Service in a variety of locations and positions. He is a knowledgeable naturalist and great facilitator.

The cost of the program is $5 for families, $3 per person and free for members. Tin Mountain community nature programs are open to the public, and are made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of LL Bean.
