STAR-SPANGLED JULY 4TH WEEK IN MT WASHINGTON VALLEY, NH

So much going on in North Conway NH and surrounding areas of the White Mountains, it’s fair to say that this is THE place to be to celebrate the red, white and blue. Businesses are optimistic about a strong July 4th says the chamber

North Conway, NH – Long considered among the best regions for July 4th celebrations, Mt Washington Valley’s 27 towns and villages will be putting on the star-spangled show for Independence Day for days on end! There’s plenty of family fun, live entertainment, parades, BBQs and games, not to mention a variety of different fireworks shows throughout the Valley. The Mt Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce conducted an informal survey among members who unanimously conveyed optimism that the holiday will bring even more people than last year. Weather will be the determining factor, they all agree, yet with so much happening in the Valley, the Mt Washington Valley Chamber is anticipating a very strong July 4th weekend in throughout the Valley.

With the July 4th holiday falling on a Wednesday, lodging properties are seeing strong reservations coming in for the weekend before and the weekend after, says Charlie Mallar of the 1785 Inn.  Charlie anticipates last minute reservations for July 3rd and 4th, depending upon the weather.

Marketing Directors from Mt Washington Valley’s attractions weighed in saying that spring and early summer have been strong to date, and they are anticipating a great July 4th weekend in the Valley. Jonathan Rivers from Indian Mound Golf Course told the chamber,  “We’re seeing great bookings for the golf course throughout all of 4th of July week,  and we’ve been told by many customers that conditions are the best they have ever seen.” “Having July 4th fall midweek will make for a good week for all,” Rivers added.

“Things are just ramping up now but we’re expecting a good summer,” shared Bob Tupper from White Lake Speedway in Tamworth. “Early summer visitors are saying they believe the economy has improved, and as long as fuel prices remain stable, the outlook is very positive! We’re expecting the July 4th week to be strong with two big weekends to balance holiday visitors/traffic,” he finished.

Lauren Hawkins, Marketing Director at Story Land in Glen, NH, told the chamber that if the weather is good, she predicts a strong July 4th holiday. “When the 4th of July is midweek, we see a higher attendance rate,” Hawkins shared. “Our summer has kicked off strong and we are looking forward to a great 2018 season,” she added.

Susan Logan of the Conway Scenic Railroad shared that the “Firecracker Express,” which started in 2015 will run once again this year from Conway Village to North Conway as a great way to avoid trying to find a parking place in North Conway for the fireworks. “Ridership has grown each year as the word gets out that this is a fun way to beat traffic congestion after the fireworks,” said Susan who anticipates another banner July 4th holiday for the train.
