King Pine Ski Area Hosts New Cyclocross Race This Fall

East Madison, N.H. (August 9, 2017): King Pine Ski Area will host a cyclocross race Sunday, October 1, 2017 in partnership with Deer Farm CX. Tailored to be a fun event for both beginner and advanced cyclocross bike riders, the King Pine CX will be family-friendly offering great spectator viewing, food, drinks, scenic fall foliage and fall fun for all.

Cyclocross (aka cyclocross, CX, cyclo-X or ‘cross) is a unique form of bicycle racing. Races are generally held in autumn/early winter and consist of timed laps on a short (1.5 to 2 mile) course that feature wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles requiring the rider to quickly dismount, carry the bike while navigating the obstruction and remount.The sport originated in Belgium, France and the Netherlands, but it’s popularity continues to spread world-wide.

The King Pine CX is scheduled to be an all day event beginning with a series of races that will start at 9 a.m. with the Cyclocross for the mens and womens categories followed by a 5K, Duathlon, Costume Ride, Mountain Bike and Kids Race. Pre-register for the event by August 15 and save or sign up on the day of the event (8 a.m.). Kids 14 and under race for free.
