White Mountains Pride Festival presents a full line-up of entertainment on June 29, 2019 – see schedule

North Conway, NH– White Mountains Pride, dedicated to promoting inclusion throughout the White Mountains, is excited to announce the line up of entertainment for the inaugural LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) Pride Festival in Mt Washington Valley, NH. Culminating a week of events designed to celebrate diversity in the Valley, the festival offers a day filled with free live entertainment for all, on June 29th from 10am – 4pm at the North Conway Community Center Park in North Conway Village.

Greg Vander Veer, Chair of the Entertainment Committee of White Mountains Pride, states “We are bringing together a very diverse group of entertainers, some who have performed in the area before, but many who have never done performances in the White Mountains. This diverse group of entertainers are coming together with our community to celebrate, educate, and help foster acceptance of all people.” DJ Kramer, Co-chair of White Mountains Pride, is “thankful and pleased that so many performers from areas like Portland, New York, Boston and California made arrangements to join us in New Hampshire to celebrate our first ever Pride.”

10:00 Interfaith Blessing & Ribbon Cutting w/ Community Spiritual Leaders & Reverend Yolanda:

10:05 Mila Dorji and Alex Villalobos Performance: These two local students of Kennett High School are happy to participate in our first ever White Mountains Pride Festival. White Mountains Pride looks forward to working with Kennett High School’s Gay-Straight-Transgender-Alliance, as well as other local teen support groups and clubs, to help ensure all students feel safe, accepted, and welcome.

10:25 Shana Aisenberg Performance: On any given day you can hear Shana Aisenberg playing in various musical contexts from Appalachian Old-time to Eastern-European Klezmer to fingerstyle blues. Shana regularly fiddles for contra dances, plays piano and directs the choir every Sunday morning at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Eastern Slopes (UUFES) in Tamworth NH, and sings original songs at coffeehouses. Shana is an out and proud trans woman.

11:00 8th Fire Drum Circle Performance: Led by Sterling Chase This Circle is a 7th Generation, Native American Drum Circle. It is intersectional and all are welcome. It has been created with a focus on bringing awareness to Indigenous Culture and the preservation of Native American songs. This space of Peace, Equality and healing welcomes everyone to bring hand drums, Native songs, voice or simply the interest in learning.

11:30 Reverend Yolanda Performance: Rev. Yolandais a singer/songwriter/trans-femme genderqueer performance artist and interfaith minister, originally from Muscle Shoals Alabama. Rev. Yolanda’s ministry and body of musical work has been captured on film by Ike Allen of Avaiya Media with the movie "Rev. Yolanda’s Old Time Gospel Hour" and has been honored with induction into the The GLBT Hall Of Fame, the Blues Hall of Fame, and two MAC Awards.

12:00 MOMENT OF SILENCE to honor those who have struggled in the past

12:15 Quisol Performance: Joseph Quisol is a queer artist, producer, and organizer based in Oakland, CA. Raised in North Carolina in a family of mixed Filipino and Puerto Rican descent, Quisol draws from salsa and Afro-Caribbean rhythms, often singing in Spanglish. With each song and visual project, his goal is to actively engage audiences in the imagination of new, liberated futures. With each performance and live experience that he produces, he works to build community and create alternative spaces that affirm queer and trans people of color – a revolutionary act of celebration in a world that denies the humanity of these groups.

1:00 New Fame Performance: Adrienne Mack-Davis and Felecia Cruz have spent the last 5 years traveling the world living a life of shows, service and self-development. With over 1000 performances and 50 workshops in 8 countries and countless cities/states the ladies have finally found their DJ. Skulz is from Saigon, Vietnam and has an incredible ear for genre blending, his virtue, unsurpassed work ethic and enthusiasm in every moment made him an instant part of the team. Always pushing a positive message throughout a combination of hard hitting hip-hop, dance, trap, reggae and dancehall tunes these three high energy artists are sure to leave you feeling like you can fly and wanting more!

1:45 Dueling Divas Performance: ‘Dueling Divas,’ featuring two of the area’s best, Lady Vanessa and Ta’Miracle Whip, come together after their recent win at the Mt. Washington Valley Mouth Off for Pride! Watch as they perform some of their favorites for the audience including a show stopping finish!

2:30 SnugHouse Performance: Since forming in the fall of 2017, the quintet has made profound headway in the local scene. In a short time, SnugHouse went from house shows to bar residencies, to regular appearances at some of Portland’s biggest local music venues. To date, SnugHouse has made appearances on Portland’s two biggest televised music programs, and garnered regular radio airplay on all local stations, most notably 98.9 WCLZ. In addition, CLZ has featured SnugHouse on their station stage at Portland’s biggest summer food and culture festival, Old Port Fest.

3:15 Sensitive Men Performance: Hailing from all over the eastern seaboard, the members of Sensitive Men currently call New Hampshire home. Taking inspiration from life experiences, relationships, and the struggles of the everyday, Sensitive Men uses storytelling through music as a way to create scenes that listeners can visualize and relate to. Their new album Juniper is available now.
