Cranmore Welcomes January with Winter Events

NORTH CONWAY, NH – With winter in full swing, Cranmore Mountain Resort will host a number of events this January.

On Saturday, January 7th, the resort will welcome the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge. This fun and free race is open to all ages and abilities with a valid lift ticket or season pass, and includes prizes, a victory party and complimentary Mountain Dew.

Passholders can get first tracks with Cranmore President and General Manager for Ski with the GM on Sunday, January 8th. Guests can meet at the Skimobile Express Quad at 7:45am. Ski with the GM is followed by coffee and cinnamon rolls at the summit Meister Hut. Passholders can also join first tracks on Sunday, January 22nd, Sunday, February 5th or Sunday, March 12th.

Guests can get a behind the scenes look at the mountain from Cranmore’s Ambassadors during a Guided Mountain Tour on Saturday, January 14th. Guided tours are complimentary with a valid lift ticket or season pass, and meet at the base of the Skimobile Express Quad at 10:30am.

Cranmore will host its weekly Cranapalooza celebration on Saturday, January 14th, featuring a DJ in Schneider Square s’mores, C-more the Penguin, interactive games and more in Schneider Square from 2:30 to 4:30pm. Fireworks are scheduled for 6:30pm at the base of the South Slope. There will be live music in Zip’s Pub on both Saturday and Sunday from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. Cranapalooza and live music are offered on Saturday afternoons and holiday periods throughout the winter. A full schedule of entertainment can be viewed at Cranmore.com.

As a part of a new ski movie series, Cranmore will host a screening of Matchstick Production’s “Ruin and Rose” in Zip’s Pub and Grille on Friday, January 20th. Filmed in Alaska, British Columbia, France, California, Switzerland and Bulgaria, attendees will be witness to a world of slopes. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online or at the door. Doors open at 6:30pm and the film will begin at 7pm. The resort will show a second ski film, Teton Gravity’s Tight Loose and Unreal, on February 3rd. Details can be found at Cranmore.com.

New for 2017, in collaboration with local non-profit Believe in Books, the Arlberg Children’s Center will welcome mascot favorites for Story Time on Saturday, January 21st. This event is open to Cranmore’s KidsRule participants. Children are welcome back to the Arlberg lodge after lessons to read a book with some recognizable characters, such as Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, the Lorax, and Winnie the Pooh.
