Cranmore Opens for Summer, June 27th

Cranmore Mountain Resort will begin summer operations on Saturday, June 27th.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the resort will reopen for summer with modified operations that include the Scenic Chairlift, Mountain Adventure Park rides*, outdoor dining on Zip’s Deck, and new for 2020, Cranmore Mountain Bike Park.

Cranmore’s new beginner friendly, lift-serviced Mountain Bike Park will feature 5 miles of beginner to advance flow trails off Cranmore’s South Quad, in addition to a skills park at the base of the mountain.  Admission to the bike park will be available in full or half day increments, with limited tickets available during each time block. A limited number of Bike Park season passes are also available.

Beginner lesson packages will be offered for those who are new to lift-serviced downhill mountain biking but are comfortable riding a bicycle.  The 3-hour package includes 90 minutes of instruction followed by 90 minutes of self-guided riding, a half day Rossignol All Track full suspension Mountain Bike rental, full face helmet, and protective gear.  To adhere to social distancing, lessons will be limited to up to 4 people, with only family and friends being grouped together.  Guests taking a lesson must be 8 years and older.

At the base area, Cranmore has opened the new CranK Bike and Repair Shop, handling bike tunes and repairs and offering Rossignol full suspension mountain bike rentals for all ages.

Also new for the summer season is dining on Zip’s Deck.  Guests will be able to sit down and enjoy a food truck inspired menu, or kick back and relax with a craft beer or wine. Seating will be available on a first-come, first served basis.

The Mountain Adventure Park (Mountain Coaster, Soaring Eagle Zipline, & Giant Swing) and Scenic Chairlift (chairlift, summit hiking and summit Meister Hut featuring Tuckerman’s Craft Beer and Gifford Ice Cream) will be offered as two separate experiences, available in 2-hour time block tickets.

“During a typical summer we have several attractions and amusements that take place at the resort.  Going into this season, we have shifted our focus to attractions that allow us to maintain social distancing with our guests and staff.  Our goal is to provide great summer experiences, in a family friendly safe environment.” said Cranmore President & GM, Ben Wilcox.

“We’ve also really shaken up how we sell our tickets.  To maintain social distancing, we are limiting the number of people allowed in the park at one given time by moving to time block ticketing.  The safety of our staff and guests is our top priority and therefore spreading out our guest visits over a full day period will eliminate any crowding concerns.”

“Our new attractions this summer, lift-serviced mountain biking and outside deck dining should be very popular with guests looking to enjoy a spread-out mountain setting,” Wilcox continued.

Cranmore will be open daily from 10am – 5pm from June 27th – Labor Day, and then weekends only through Columbus Day.    Lodging options are available on site at Kearsarge Brook Condominiums at Cranmore.  For official opening dates, hours of operation, and to purchase tickets and lodging reservations, visit www.cranmore.com or call 1-800-SUN-N-SKI.
