Black Cap Grille Retools and Reopens for Business

NORTH CONWAY, NH — After 10 years of pleasing the palettes of North Conway diners, Black Cap Grille is retooling its operations and reopening for limited operations later this week. They plan to reopen with ‘Touchless Curbside" Carry out on June 4 and outdoor patio dining on June 10.

With indoor dining still restricted under Governor Chris Sununu’s Stay at Home 2.0 orders, Black Cap Grille has applied some innovation to its plans to reopen. While the restaurant has not previously offered to go ordering, it now will offer its signature menu items, such as the 2369′ black pastrami sandwich, chipotle shrimp tacos and signature entree salads such as the Black and Blue or Ahi Tuna options with online ordering. Customers are asked to visit their website at www.blackcapgrille.com and select “online ordering” to receive contactless orders to go.

For those yearning for time on their outdoor patio, guests can ask to be put on a wait list in advance. The wait list option is also on their website. Owner Ben Williams stated, “It’s not a reservation, but it allows guests to put their name on the list in advance to minimize time waiting upon arrival.” Guests will find fewer seats available than previously offered on the patio, as six foot spacing is needed and no more than six people seated at a table.

On a recent Tuesday, the crew at Black Cap Grille was in the midst of deep cleaning its kitchen, freezers and storage areas, from ceiling to floor. The dining room was silent, but for the sound of bar staff restocking its shelves. Williams met with chef Peter Willis, reviewing menu plans and food orders.

General Manager Theresa Gray shared their enthusiasm about getting back to work and seeing their friends and customers for the first time in months. “We are extremely excited to get back at it. We are looking forward to all of our regular customers. We have missed our Black Cap family and are so looking forward to seeing them again.”

In addition to changes to patio seating and the addition of to-go ordering, Black Cap will be adhering to all of the new health and safety guidance issues by the state of New Hampshire in response to COVID19. Employees will follow state guidelines including the wearing of facemasks, adhering to frequent handwashing. Customers are asked to bring and wear a cloth face covering when entering and exiting to protect other patrons and employees during the seating and exiting process, or when getting up to use the restroom. Cloth face coverings are not necessary while seated and dining outdoors. Alcohol-based hand-sanitizer will be made readily available at the reception desk for both customers and employees.
