Attitash Mountain Resort Hosts 20th Annual Oktoberfest Columbus Day Weekend

Columbus Day Weekend, Attitash Mountain Resort hosts its 20th Annual Oktoberfest on October 7-8 at the Bear Peak base area. This annual two-day festival celebrates the end of the summer season and welcomes the winter season with traditional live Bavarian music from the world-renowned King Ludwig’s Band, activities for kids and adults, German fare, and plenty of beer and cider.

NEW THIS YEAR: Kids under 21 will be FREE on Sunday, October 8. To support this deal, additional kids’ games and activities will take place on Sunday. Planned activities include an apple slingshot, pumpkin bowling, giant checkers, a schnitzel toss (think water balloon toss), and a kid’s version of the classic adult stein hoisting competition. Several new admission packages are now available at a discount when purchased in advance online. The best deal? The Ultimate Package, which includes admission, beer token, souvenir mug, and a scenic chairlift ride is just $35. Online sales end Friday, October 6 at 11:59pm.

In addition to the new kids’ activities on Sunday, Attitash is planning on providing a wide variety of activities for both kids and adults throughout the weekend. This includes the Samuel Adams Stein Hoisting Competition, corn hole boards, slack lining, and of course, the crowd favorite keg toss. The Kinderplatz area is all about the kids with arts & crafts, face painting, and other mini games organized by the Mount Washington Valley Children’s Museum. There will also be multiple inflatable obstacle courses in the venue.

Hours for Oktoberfest on Saturday are 12 p.m. – 6 p.m., and on Sunday, 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. Please bring your valid ID if you are planning on enjoying the wide variety of beers and cider. Please note that due to the increasing popularity of this event, dogs will not be allowed into the venue this year.

During Oktoberfest, the Bear Peak lodge will be open with winter gear and apparel offered at clearance prices. Attitash’s season pass office will be open as well giving guests the opportunity to purchase and/or pick up season passes for the 17/18 winter. The fall deadline to save on the Peak Pass season passes which features access to 7 northeast ski mountains including Attitash & Wildact is October 18.
