About the Snow in Mt Washington Valley – Bretton Woods to open on Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving greetings from Mt Washington Valley, NH!

It’s really beginning to look like the the ski season is upon us in Mt Washington Valley. With snow gently falling this morning, there’s a holiday shimmer to the region. Listen closely and you’ll hear the sound of snowmaking guns working hard to get ready for the season at Mt Washington Valley’s 13 ski resorts and XC Centers. We’re getting closer and closer to opening, with Bretton Woods being the first in our region, turning on the lifts on Thanksgiving Day.

Here’s the report from Mt Washington Valley’s ski resorts and XC Centers this week.

ALPINE SKI RESORTS – SNOW REPORT FOR WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2020

Attitash – Snowmaking underway in anticipation of opening day on Friday, December 4, 2020.

Black Mountain – Snowmaking to start once temps and operations team give the word. Opening day: TBA.

Bretton Woods – opening for the 20-21 ski season Thursday, Nov 26, 2020 at 9am with top to bottom runs on Outer Bounds and Range View. There is no beginner terrain available and conditions are recommended for intermediate and advanced skiers/riders. Base depth: 8”-16”.

Cranmore – Targeted opening day is Friday, December 4th. With snowmaking weather returning, Phase II of the snowmaking plan can commence, allowing terrain to open off the summit and South Quad. Anticipating two lifts, and more space for distancing on opening day.

King Pine – Snowmaking underway in anticipation of opening day on Friday, December 18, 2020.

Shawnee Peak – Planning and snowmaking for the 2020-21 season is underway. Opening day TBA.

Wildcat – Presently snowing at Wildcat. Snowmaking underway as temps allow. Opening Day TBA.

XC CENTERS – TRAIL CONDITIONS FOR WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2020
