3rd Annual Soups & Songs Event to Support Homelessness and Recovery Resources in Mount Washington Valley

Bennett & Perkins to perform at fundraiser at the Lutheran Church of the Nativity in North Conway

NORTH CONWAY,NH – Are you or a friend, loved one or neighbor impacted by the opiate abuse epidemic and would like to help support a path to recovery? Do you wish to have a positive impact on the homelessness situation in the area? Now you can enjoy a night of camaraderie, good food and good music while supporting MWV Supports Recovery and the Way Station. The public is invited to this community dinner and evening of acoustic music by Bennett & Perkins. The performance takes place in the Lutheran Church of the Nativity, 15 Grove St, North Conway, NH, on Sat. January 25, 2020.
The evening of music will begin at 6 p.m. with a community dinner of soups and other enticing food offerings served up in unique hand-thrown, hand-crafted pottery bowls donated by local potter Jennie Lanoie and students. Attendees get to take home the bowls. Dinner follows with a concert at 7pm by folk musicians Bennett & Perkins, joined by multi-instrumentalist Taylor Whiteside. The singer/songwriters tour New England sharing their original music that has been compared to artists ranging from Richard Thompson to Emmy Lou Harris. Often featured on NH Public Radio’s The Folk Show, their music combines tight harmonies, compelling storytelling, and master guitar work for an evening to remember.
MWV Supports Recovery offers a Family Resource Center, a safe place where recovery development occurs and where individuals are matched with people offering recovery support services.Their Endeavor House began offering sober housing and recovery services to women in 2018. The Way Station serves the homeless and housing insecure, offering access to services for those who need the basics: laundry, showers, internet access, PO box for identification, toiletries, small storage lockers, emotional support, and referrals to other services and resources. The event is supported by the NH Charitable Foundation. Tickets are just $25 per person, with a maximum of 75 tickets available. They may be purchased online in advance at www.bennettandperkins.com. Tickets are also available at the door, but advance online registration is strongly recommended as limited seats are available.
