2″ to 5″ of new snow puts smiles on skiers, riders & ski resort operators faces in MW Valley, NH

Greetings from Mt Washington Valley where winter has returned!

Yesterday anywhere from 2” to 5” of new snow really helped to put smiles on the faces of skiers, riders and ski resort operators! With this weekend’s warmer temps and blue skies, we’re looking forward to finally enjoying a great weekend of weather for enjoying the outdoors.

Be sure to check the links to each ski report for the most up-to-date snow and trail conditions. Here are the conditions on Thursday, January 18, 2018:

Attitash41 trails, 37 groomed runs, 194 acres skiable terrain. 7 lifts. Base depth: 12"-24". 4" of new snowfall in the past 24 hours. 53" of snow this season. Abenaki Parks Rail Jam on Sat, Jan 20. Enjoy live entertainment in Ptarmigan’s Pub and Lion’s Den after skiing.

Black Mountain -11 trails, 11 groomed runs. 2 lifts, more running this weekend. Base depths: 12"-36". 4"-5" of new snow in the past 48 hours. Friday Night Lights Skimo Race from 6 – 8 Friday. Find live entertainment in Lostbo Pub nightly Friday-Sunday. AFC Championship party on Sunday.

Bretton Woods – 54 trails, 4 glades, 352 skiable acres.7 lifts. Base depth: 30"-40". 5" of snowfall in the past 48 hours. 97" of snowfall this season. Enjoy both adult and kids’ Apres Ski Parties after a day of great skiing. World Snow Day celebrated Sun, Jan 21st. Jan is learn to ski & ride month at Bretton Woods.

Cranmore .31 trails and glades, 28 groomed ,120 skiable acres. 4 lifts. Base: 15"-25". 4" of new snow in the past 24 hours. Tubing & Mountain Adventure Park open starting Friday, 4pm and open this weekend. Vertical Challenge free race and Cranapalooza on Saturday, plus live music in Zips Pub.

King Pine – 16 trails, 95% groomed. Terrain park closed. 48 skiable acres, 5 lifts. Base depth: 18"-35". 5" of new snow in the past 48 hours. 48" of snow this season. The tubing park and skating rink are both open for regular hours. Torchlight Tubing on Friday and Night skiing on Saturday Night. Ski Works Tent Sale on Saturday. Jan is learn to ski & ride month at King Pine.

Shawnee Peak -27 trails open (27 groomed), 2 terrain parks open.4 lifts. Base depth: 20"-30", 5" of new snowfall in the past 24 hours. College Night #1 on Friday. Celebrate Shawnee Peak’s 80th Birthday on Saturday with events throughout the day. Click here for schedule.

Wildcat17 trails (17 groomed) and 118 skiable terrain. 4 lifts operating. Base depths: 20"-20". 2" of new snowfall in the past 24 hours. 75" of snowfall this season. Catch live entertainment from 1:00-4:00pm in the pub on Friday and Saturday. Mark the calendar for Wildcat’s 60th Anniversary Celebrations, January 25-28.

And at Mt Washington Valley’s XC and Snowshoe Centers …

Bear Notch Ski Touring: 30km trails open, 30km classic, 30km skating. Base depths: 9"-20".3"-4" of new snow in the past 24 hours. Freshly groomed tracks and skate lanes on Western Trail Network Trail Network, Lower Fields and scenic and simple river trails.

Bretton Woods Nordic Center: 38 trails (73km) open. 10 trails track set (16km), 29 trails skate groomed (47km). Base depth: 10" – 12". 3" of new snowfall in the past 24 hours. Snowfall season to date: 97". Tubing, skating and fat bikes from The Stone Pillar. 5+ km of fat biking and dog walking trails from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm and tubing & skating from 10:00am – 5:00pm today.

Great Glen Trails: 45 km open; 20km tracked, 20km skate groomed. Snowshoe trails: 45km. Average base depth: 6". 2" new snow in the past 24 hours. Season snowfall total: 68". Tubing hill closed. Snowcoach Tours scheduled, but weather dependent. Call ahead to inquire about fat biking.

Jackson Ski Touring Foundation: 44 trails/104km open, 22 trails track set, 25 trails skate groomed. 11 back country trails open. 18 snowshoe trails open. Base depth: 6"-22". 3" of new snowfall in the past 24 hours. Snowfall season to date: 41". 15th White Mountain Classic on Jan 20th. January is Learn to Ski Month at Jackson XC.

Purity Spring XC and Snowshoe Preserve: 20km open and ungroomed. Free to those who wish to try. 20km snowshoe trails open. Base depths: 12"-24".5" of new snowfall in the past 48 hours.480" of snowfall this season. Guided Snowshoe Tours every Saturday at 2:00pm, weather permitting.

Mt Washington Valley Ski Touring & Snowshoe Foundation: 15km open in Whitaker Woods to 1785 Inn & Stonehurst Manor. 15km single tracked, 15km skate groomed. 45km snowshoe trails. 12km fat biking trails on designated trails. Base depths: 4"-10". 4" of new snow in the past 24 hours. Guided Snowshoe Walk every Saturday at 1:00 pm. Note: The Whitaker Woods Snowshoe Scramble originally scheduled on January 13th was rescheduled for Saturday, February 17, 2018.
